RASAMAYA® STRUCTURAL THERAPY PACKAGE

Our expert Rasamaya® Structural Therapists utilize an integrative approach to movement to bring your body into optimal alignment to help you feel and look your absolute best.  Each session is individually tailored to your needs. Expect to be physically challenged and encouraged to work at your appropriate level of ability.

The Rasamaya® Method of movement believes the body has two primary energies: compressive and expansive. For the body to function optimally, we must find the middle path between these two forces. Rasamaya® Structural Therapy works to find the balance in your body between flexibility, core strength, muscle tone, and stability with freedom of movement in the joints and muscles resulting in a sense of fluidity and ease in your body. The 50 minute movement portion of your session is focused around exercise on the Pilates Reformer and other Pilates apparatus and may also include the use of free weights, yoga, ballet barres and more. All sessions finish with bodywork and integration techniques.

Because Rasamaya Structural Therapists belive in a team based model to wellness, all clients in this program receive a discounted autobill membership at the studio during their progression through Phase II.

RASAMAYA® STRUCTURAL THERAPY PACKAGE : PHASE I – INITIAL CONSULTATION

This introductory phase is a chance for you and your Structural Therapist to meet and begin to create a tailored program. The initial consult is focused around assessing both your movement and lifestyle patterns, and will introduce you to how to move effectively and safely on the various pieces of apparatus in the studio. The introductory session also provides a low cost opportunity to assess the program before making a larger financial commitment. 30 - 45 minutes.

RASAMAYA® STRUCTURAL THERAPY PACKAGE : PHASE II – OPTIMAL MOVEMENT*

Phase II consists of 10 private sessions focused on bringing the body into optimal alignment. Within each of us, there are myofascial meridian lines that stretch from the toes to the head and weave through all of our muscles and bones and organs, holding us together and influencing our movement patterns. By warming, strengthening, and stretching these meridian lines one can correct discrepancies in the body that are often responsible for aches and pains, creating freedom of movement and stability. Each session is geared towards working one of these lines, opening the line where you are chronically contracted, and strengthening it where you are chronically weak. We promise by the completion of Phase II sessions you will move and feel like a new person.

In the last few sessions of Phase II you and your therapist will assess what yoru new needs and goals are. These last few sessions will be used to prepare you for next steps whether they that be stuido classes, a home program, more private sessions or other ideas.

Typical structure of a one hour session:

  • 10min Warm Up, Centering, Breathing, Education
  • 50min MovementIndividually Tailored Movement Experience
  • 15min Integration & Relaxation - Relaxing Personalized Bodywork, with time to Rest and Restore

At the end of each session, clients are encouratged to take an additional 10min to rest and allow the neural body to integrate the experience.

*Please note that number of sessions are on a case by case basis, the normal amount of sessions is 10 but occasionally more or less may be recommended, especially in the case of serious structural issues.

RASAMAYA® STRUCTURAL THERAPY PACKAGE: PHASE III – BODY SCULPTING*

After bringing the body into your personal expression of optimal movement, it is now time to move into Phase III the sculpting phase. Just as an artist molds clay the body can also be molded and shaped. In this segment exercises are geared towards working the “stubborn” areas of the body. Sessions will be focused on removing those old movement patterns that are still hovering around, and also sculpting the areas of the body in which you would like to see more tone and definition. During this phase, a maintenance plan will be designed for you by your movement therapist. This plan is designed for you to practice in phase IV.

RASAMAYA® STRUCTURAL THERAPY PACKAGE: PHASE IV – PERSONAL WORKOUTS

In Phase IV we set you free. Using the personalized plan created for you in Phase III you are now on your own to come in once to twice a week and use the studio space to do your own personal workout. Once a month you will check in with your Rasamaya® Movement Therapist to help make changes to your program so you continue to strengthen and grow in your practice and your path to wellness, vitality, and increased health.
